Albatrosses Following a Killer Whale
November 20th, 2009
The photograph suggested albatrosses may sometimes forage in the open ocean the way other seabirds do closer to shore — by following other predators for clues or leftovers.

Orwell on Writing:
Orwell’s proposition is that modern English, especially written English, is so corrupted by bad habits that it has become impossible to think clearly. The main enemy, he believed, was insincerity, which hides behind the long words and empty phrases that stand between what is said and what is really meant.

I’ve neglected this site for almost a year because I’ve been busy with work, graduate school, music, and a million other projects. Just not enough hours in the day I guess.
I’ve even tried a few speed-blogging tools like Tumblr and Posterous, but nothing stuck.
So I’ve decided to go “old school” and just post it all on the blog…words, links, photos, audio, video, whatever. A home base for everything – the mother ship.
My first step was to quickly design a new WordPress theme to bring posts to the front page and add a sidebar. I also tried adding a large background image, but it was too big and distracted from the main content. So it’s back to clean and simple for Inneroctave.
All of this doesn’t really change the fact that I’m still extremely busy with other projects, but it’s worth a try. Thanks for reading.
Here are a few random things I stumbled on recently…
Really excited to hear it. From Geoff Farina’s website:
This one’s got everything I love: harmonizing guitars, vivid narratives, the supple rhythms of drummer Gavin McCarthy, and the clinical production values of engineers Andy Hong and Jeff Lipton, all wrapped up in gorgeous original artwork by Sonnenzimmer.
I recently finished up a few updates for gangplankrecords.com. The sunset background image has been expanded to fill the entire browser, each artist has their own page, and t-shirts are now available in the store.
Oh yeah, the best part…a FREE 12-song sampler available for download featuring songs from each artist. Enjoy.
